Stellar Calendar

Stellar Year 1

The United States completes the first lunar colony. The AD era ends and the calendar changes to the Stellar Year system. Multiple countries are competing to create lunar colonies.

Stellar Year 20

A Third World War occurs. The war lasts just under a year due to mutual destruction caused by multiple nuclear strikes from all sides.

Stellar Year 21

Many thousands of scientists were hidden away by their countries, who now no longer exist. Coming together, they form the United Human Federation government to work towards a better humanity. Old ethical restrictions on many biological research fields are removed or just forgotten. Cloning and medical nanomachines become focal points of research among humanity's scientists.

Stellar Year 48

The human population is rapidly replenished into the millions with new, reliable cloning techniques focused on producing normal, genetically-fit humans. The global environment is restored, with temperatures returned to pre-warming figures and radioactivity totally cleared up.

Stellar Year 60

Breakthroughs in genetic engineering occur and designer-baby technology becomes widespread, giving the next generations of humans everything from genetically-tailored looks to longer lives with a vastly greater period of physical prime. Clones before this time were considered people, but by this time their production has ceased in favour of new, mass-produced, purpose-made workers. These clones were engineered to be stronger and tougher than the 'natural' humans, but with subservience conditioning and few rights. The United Human Federation decides to capitalise on this development and launches the Mars Pioneer Project to set up habitation on Mars.

Stellar Year 76

Nanomachines developed by the new Voyager corporation to be more than just surgical tools are now able to support the general health of their hosts, and can extend lifespans even further than before so long as the host is able to afford the exponential cost of repeated treatments. Despite the voiced concerns of many scholars, these nanomachines are legalized through massive corporate lobbying from the reemerging rich elite of the rising corporations and conglomerates. Genetic enhancement technology is augmented with these new nanomachines, and humanity becomes a genetically-engineered species thanks to the newest genetic enhancements being able to not just affect babies, but also children and adults. In doing so, almost all genetic disease is eradicated, a fact the rich 'corporate-class' swiftly take credit for.

Stellar Year 112

Mars is fully terraformed and has seen the majority of humanity shifted over to it, ostensibly to preserve the Earth as humanity's population approaches about half of what it was prior to WWIII. Efforts begin to establish stations and human presence even further afield than Mars, which is called the beginning of The Age of Pioneering, driven by megacorporations who have expanded extremely aggressively following decades of booming industry on Earth.

Stellar Year 144

The human sphere of life has extended into the asteroid belt and towards Jupiter, where numerous stations have been established. The subservient worker clones had become so great in number that 'natural' humanity was easily the minority. Fearing a clone revolt, the human rights of clones are recognized in a United Human Federation constitutional amendment which simultaneously prohibits the continuation of cloning and mandates the destruction of cloning technology. While combining the beauty, health, and longevity of the 'natural' humans with the endurance, resilience, and strength of the clones through interbreeding did result in an overall improvement for humanity, it resulted in unforeseen and irreversible damage to the Y chromosome. The genetic damage resulted in a gender imbalance of roughly 7 women for every 3 men and the feminisation of males, causing the most 'masculine' males to be no more than 165cm tall and soundly androgynous, while many more are as short as 150cm with prominent, feminine hips and very slight upper bodies. The total human population exceeds 10 billion people.

Stellar Year 167

Megacorps and oligarchs control practically all the surface area of Earth. The United Human Federation government is progressively gutted of their authority and becomes puppets to the needs of the Megacorps. One of their most prominent actions at this time is to pass a bill evicting all people from Earth below a certain, ridiculous, amount of wealth, excluding their servants. Restoring Earth into a paradise world as the population is progressively evicted, the ultra-rich who claim the Earth as theirs now call themselves 'Gaians'.

Stellar Year 170

Very-high-power ion engines are developed, allowing for large spaceships to cruise at speeds permitting voyages of only a few months between most neighbouring planets, assuming they are in roughly similar orbital areas. Great orbiting stations and even cities are built in the Jupiter system, mainly by the substantial amount of humanity that was recently evicted from Earth.

Stellar Year 195

Jupiter’s other moons are being terraformed while the fully-terraformed Ganymede emerges as the second most prominent population center outside of Mars. Voyager, the most powerful Megacorp and the ones responsible for most of humanity's biotech advancements, have created general-purpose nanomachines called 'Deus Ex Machina'. Unlike earlier medical and health nanomachines, who have finite uses and service lives, the Deus Ex Machina nanomachines are intended to continuously support the health of implanted individuals to survive the harshest of environments as they expand the human sphere beyond the Jupiter system. These nanomachines and their associated support implants find their way into the bodies of both the 'corporate-class' rich and those Megacorp employees sent out as pioneers and builders.

Stellar Year 200

The Deus Ex Machina nanomachines have proven to be the missing link in cybernetics, as their adaptable functionality eliminates the need for dozens of medical personnel to painstakingly connect neurons to sensors and motors. Consumer-grade cybernetics become commonplace among all working-class and corporate-class people, including neural interfaces and other quality-of-life implants. The more powerful corporate-class and the extremely privileged 'executive-class' at the top of the Megacorps become increasingly more cybernetically-enhanced, equipped with as many vanity implants as they have functional and medical implants.

Fueled by decades of male scarcity, society has shifted greatly towards matriarchal soft-rule, and female-led polycules have become the norm. These are increasingly being led by women who implant themselves with fully-functional male organs, becoming futanari. Cyber-futanari become rare, but highly desirable and enviable members of society, flaunting their packages with their fashion choices wherever they go. Led by the wide-reaching public presence of cyber-futanari, human society experiences a substantial shift toward casual themes of sex-sexuality, and eroticism.

Stellar Year 220

Saturn’s major moons begin colonization and some terraforming. Megacorps continue to keep the populace in line despite the distance by sending large private security forces to Saturn. Seeing that they have the place to themselves, the Megacorps make Titan into a major center for corporate activity. The most powerful Megacorps create new cities as their own fiefdoms, free from each other's influence and undermining as is common on Mars and Ganymede. Megacorp productivity and market caps soar for those able to bolster their operations in wider society with the output of these corporate cities.

Stellar Year 243

The population reaches roughly 50 billion people, with roughly two-thirds of humanity's population living on or around Mars. The next-largest population center is the Jupiter system, followed by the Saturn system, with the remainder spread amongst the various sun-orbiting stations.

The first station at Pluto is established by Voyager for unknown purposes.

Stellar Year 245

All contact with the Pluto station is lost.

Stellar Year 246

The first recorded contact with an 'alien' creature takes place at the stations in the Uranus system. It is quickly discovered that these robotic creatures, who call themselves 'Machina', are created by infecting humans and transforming them into more of themselves. As video emerges of robotic futanari striding forth into the Uranus stations and corrupting human workers there into more of themselves, the public become curious, and even captivated by them. With humanity's societal pyramid being so profoundly wide, the opulent executive upper class and corporate middle class immediately fear the working class will revolt from their hyper-capitalistic rule and join these hedonistic, futanari, and seemingly-needless robot women. They declare these Machina to be abominations who must be destroyed before they consume humanity. Knowing they had some role in the creation of the Machina, the Gaians who once pushed them to make technologies that would grant them immortality now scramble to stop Voyager's operations, but they do not do so in time to prevent Voyager's personnel from being an invasion vector into human space.

Stellar Year 247

The Machina waste no time in attacking/infecting the population of the Saturn system. The security forces present are crushed by the Machina, who are unaffected by their simple weapons and adapt to new technologies they encounter. 80% of the Saturn system is overrun by the Machina by the end of the year. The United Human Federation passes many radical and powerful bills, such as forming the United Operations Forces by consolidating all corporate forces into a regular military. Chief among these bills is the R.E.P.A.I.R. Bill, authorizing the creation of an extra-legal, anti-Machina force-within-a-force of the UOF. The first task REPAIR undertakes is the study of the Machina infection and spread. REPAIR discover that the Machina were caused by the runaway evolution of the Deus Ex Machina nanomachines. Nanomachines are subsequently banned, although REPAIR continue utilizing their own nanomachine strains in order to fight the Machina. Voyager, once the pinnacle of human technological achievement and multi-market dominator, is thoroughly purged from society. In the background of all this, the Earth becomes increasingly closed-off, with the previously prominent, even celebrity-status Gaians now retreating into total isolation.

Stellar Year 248

The Saturn system falls to the Machina entirely. Luna, the Earth’s moon, is totally fortified to protect the United Human Federation central government and the Gaians who now live in secluded paradise on Earth. Machina move towards the Jupiter system to begin invasion.

Stellar Year 250

Approximately half of all space stations in the Jupiter system are infected by the carefully-planned and quickly-executed first strikes of the Machina. Major moons of Jupiter come under attack by the Machina, who now have beachheads into the system in the form of the conquered stations. With each conquered station and city, the Machina's numbers swell, but as the fighting reaches the ground of the major moons, the Machina quickly learn that humanity has rushed into development new weapons capable of harming them. Humanity strongly fortifies itself on the ground where they can best use their numbers, and Machina can no longer attack head-on without a care as before. Instead, the Machina Queens utilize their greatest strength, their shared network and command ability, to orchestrate their forces' attacks. Almost all Machina Queens begin campaigns of confusion, diversion, feinting, flanking, and weakening human strong-points until the main blobs of defenders are exhausted and cut-off from any help. Only then do the Machina finally attack, so as to not lose their precious lives to the waiting humans and denying the humans their desired 'decisive battles'.

Stellar Year 255

The fight for the Jupiter system takes much longer than the Saturn system partially due to humanity's new weapons, which caused the shift in Machina tactics, and partially because REPAIR Agents were often able to enter Machina territory and disrupt the planned actions of the Machina. However the largest and most populated of Jupiter’s moons, Ganymede, falls to the Machina completely by this year, thanks to its irresistibly large population drawing much of the Machina attention. Seven extraordinary Machina are reported among the Queen-class Machina present on Ganymede. They are designated Queen-class Alpha Machina. Approximately half of Europa is lost to the Machina by now as well.

Stellar Year 262

80% of the Jupiter system is lost to the Machina. The United Operations Forces begin withdrawing everything they can and fortifying the asteroid belt. Mars and most space stations face a major resource crisis since they relied on the Jupiter system and the asteroid belt for many resources. Fighting now reaches a lull between humanity and Machina, but is by no means stopped. Both humans and Machina launch long-distance commando raids into the territories of the other for the resources they each require.

By this time, humanity has lost up to 10 billion people to the war against the Machina.
