The Siren type is a Machina belonging to the Injector class, and is a specialty of Europa. It was first identified as the 72nd species, the THETIS cluster, and is now considered one of the most well-adapted types to Europa's unique environment. According to academic speculation the supporter class succubus type was subspecies under the influence of Thetis, and then it was created as it mutated into the injector class. There is also a study that the Siren type has the highest underwater adaptability among the Machina confirmed so far, and will be faster than the Assaulter class in the deep sea.
Details
This Machina is highly adapted for the deep sea adaptability so it can target not only humans who have fallen from ships, but also humans in the deep-sea research and living complex. In some cases it directly captures humans, but more often it pollutes the ocean by releasing M2.[1] It is quite dangerous as drinking water as well as equipment that simply comes into contact with contaminated water can be infected with M2.
The siren type has been modified with an M2 discharge device in its breast, and since the water solubility of M2 is very high it can quickly pollute any water source. However, since Europa's ocean is large and the M2 nanomachines lose their function when all of their energy is discharged Europa's oceans will naturally recover over time.[2] REPAIR is also continuously dropping RM to fight M2 pollution.
Repair's response
Repair has built a real-time monitoring network that automatically identifies the M2 source by monitoring RM reactivity, and is currently introducing automated bombardment equipment linked to it. As much as it is the Machina that directly interferes with securing drinking water, it is the Machina that is the most closely watched in Repair, but actually has a fairly high kill rate compared to other Machina.
