The Siren type is a Machina belonging to the Injector class, and is a specialty of Europa. It was first identified as the 72nd species, the THETIS cluster, and is now considered one of the most well-adapted types to Europa's unique environment. According to academic speculation the supporter class succubus type was subspecies under the influence of Thetis, and then it was created as it mutated into the injector class. There is also a study that the Siren type has the highest underwater adaptability among the Machina confirmed so far, and will be faster than the Assaulter class in the deep sea.

This Machina is highly adapted for the deep sea adaptability so it can target not only humans who have fallen from ships, but also humans in the deep-sea research and living complex. In some cases it directly captures humans, but more often it pollutes the ocean by releasing M2.<ref>Because of this, Siren's M2 is very water soluble.</ref> It is quite dangerous as drinking water as well as equipment that simply comes into contact with contaminated water can be infected with M2.
