For example, it is quite important to know if an Attacker-class Machina is a close-quarters combatant or a ranged combatant. The 'Type' designation comes after the 'Class' designation for this reason. With the [[Machina Development|developmental stage]], and thus the Machina's danger level, at the beginning of the designation, this creates a system of threat-level, role, and specialty, in the form of the Category-Class-Type system of identification.
