Jupiter’s moons are being terraformed and Ganymede emerges as the second most prominent population center outside of Mars. Voyager, the most powerful Megacorp and the ones responsible for most of humanity's biotech advancements, have created general-purpose nanomachines called 'Deus Ex Machina'. Unlike earlier medical and health nanomachines, who have finite uses and service lives, the Deus Ex Machina nanomachines are intended to continuously support the health of implanted individuals to survive the harshest of environments as they expand the human sphere beyond the Jupiter system. These nanomachines and their associated support implants find their way into the bodies of both the 'corporate-class' rich and those Megacorp employees sent out as pioneers and builders.
