There are seven Queen-class Machina who are nearly strong enough to gain control of the Main Cluster, and thus all Machina. They are referred to as the Alphas. They have a few quirks, such as the ability to dominate Empresses the same way an Empress dominates a Vassal. Currently, they are all concerned with trying to out-compete the other Alphas, potentially dominating them, after which the successful Alpha is theorized to become the Omega and rule over the Main Cluster and by extension all Machina. The Alpha's strength and their potential to become the rulers of all other Machina mean the Alphas are leaders of major factions among Queens. Many Queens will ally themselves to an Alpha, betting on a future where their Alpha 'wins' and they enjoy the benefits of their relationship.

Repair use the term 'Alpha', but their official title is the '7 Strongest Individuals Designated Extremely Dangerous' or '7-SIDED' as a code-phrase.

== Auditors ==

There are two unique Empresses who are referred to as Auditors. Their task seems to be the preservation of Machina survival. It is observed to consist of two main parts: Internal affairs and defense against threats to the Machina as a whole. If a Machina performs actions that are deemed self-destructive to the Machina, such as harming other Machina or becoming a liability to Machina survival through actions or inaction, the Auditors will seek out that Machina and punish her, often re-educating the offending Machina. The Auditors will also strike at human projects that would pose a threat to the continuation of Machina life. As a result of their twin purposes, these Machina are very vigilant, constantly searching for threats within and without. Auditors appear to only have two abilities that are unique to them. The first is that they seem to be able to focus on a Machina that they do not control, including other Queens, and issue commands to them as though they do control that Machina. The other ability possessed by Auditors is a seemingly-undefeatable Cluster-Code, possibly so they can instantly force other Machina into submission and not be forced into submission themselves.
